It’s felt like fall the last few weeks in Chicago especially in the morning, which is sometimes bittersweet as we say good-bye to summer fun. This weekend will mean relaxation and good times with our family in Wisconsin. We hope to also enjoy corn on the cob with ice cream, which are our family favorites. This time of year also means football season, fall flowers, such as mums, and cider. Enjoy this weekend however you choose! Also, below are a few of my favorites from the web this week. Father’s Age Linked to Autism and Schizophrenia – SCAM

The world-class newspaper obviously spun the research to appeal to fear among its readers. The original findings are in the journal Nature. The journal shared the same marketing strategy – prey on fear of its readers. The article elaborates that a genetic “mutation” is sometimes found in men over 40 in at most 2% detectable cases, which hardly seems headline worthy. Pregnancy / baby brain at its worse
Posted: August 22, 2012 Filed under: Family, Little ones, Wellness | Tags: Baby brain, forgetful mommy, pregnancy brain 1 CommentDo you hear or use the excuse “baby and/or pregnancy brain?” Is that for real? My debacle getting to the airport yesterday is just one example of both.

Below is an excerpt from an email to my friends Sheila and Tricia (sisters and moms of two) last year after my son and I experienced our first flight together or travel SNAFU without Daddy’s help. My son and I fly out for the same family vacation later today. My husband meets us later this week. I am optimistic the travel experience will be smoother for us today than it was last year…
